Movie Poster design has always been a love of mine. Whether it's the minimal work of Saul Bass for directing greats like Billy Wilder and Otto Preminger, or the more recent designs of Vasilis Marmatakis for 'Lobster' and 'The Killing of a Sacred Deer'. The common emotion created by these designers is intrigue.
My decision to depict mailboxes in the poster was made to reflect how potentially life-changing received post can be; whether it be the receipt of a credit card termination notice or even a letter of blackmail. I also blurred this image slightly to create a sense of unease. The resulting 'blur effect' adds an extra dimension by giving the illusion of a fast moving train, further emphasising the sense of disorientation for the viewer.
